Katrin Rehak-Nitsche , née Rehak (* 1978 in Berlin ), is a German politician ( SPD ). She is a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate and chair of the Rhineland-Palatinate Science Forum.

education and profession

Katrin Rehak-Nitsche studied geography (major), Egyptology (minor) and business administration (minor) at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1998 to 2004. From 2005 to 2008 she worked as a research assistant in the field of tectonic geomorphology at the GeoForschungsZentrum and the University of Potsdam, where she received her doctorate in geology in 2008. In this context she researched a. a. at the Universities of Bern, Edinburgh and Stanford.

From 2009 to 2014 she worked for the Helmholtz Association , most recently as head of "Science Policy" in Berlin with the then President Prof. Jürgen Mlynek and the then Managing Director Dr. Rolf Zettl .
