Rolf Zettl

Rolf Zettl (born February 10, 1964 in Stuttgart ) is a German biologist . Since January 1, 2019, he has been the Commercial Director of Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus GmbH.

Life

Education and activity

From 1984 Zettl studied biology at the Universities of Stuttgart-Hohenheim and Tübingen . After graduating in 1990, he did a doctoral thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne . He received his doctorate in December 1992. After a brief post-doc position as a research assistant at the same institute, he moved to Harald zur Hausen at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg in August 1993 as head of staff and scientific adviser to the chairman of the board .

From October 1995 to September 1998 Zettl worked as managing director of the resource center in the German Human Genome Project in Berlin. Between 1998 and 2005 he was a board member and chairman of two biotechnology companies in Berlin-Buch. From 2005 to September 2008 he was head of the strategic corporate development and project management division at the Charité in Berlin . On October 1, 2008, he moved to the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers , the largest non-university research organization in Germany (HGF) with a budget of around four billion euros, where he was its managing director and member of the executive committee. From March 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018, Zettl was the administrative director of the Berlin Institute for Health Research (BIH) and was responsible for all administrative and commercial issues and innovation management.

Since January 1, 2019, Rolf Zettl has been Commercial Director of Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus GmbH , Klinik Schillerhöhe GmbH and Robert-Bosch-Gesellschaft für medical research mbH. Together with the medical director, he is responsible for managing these companies.
