Katsuaki Watanabe

Katsuaki Watanabe ( Japanese 渡 辺 捷 昭 Watanabe Katsuaki ; born February 13, 1942 in Mie Prefecture ) is torishimariyaku-fuku-kaichō ( 取締 役 副 会長 , " Board of Directors and Vice Chairman ") of Toyota Jidōsha KK (English Toyota Motor Corp.) ).

Watanabe graduated from Keio University in Economics in 1964 and has been with Toyota ever since. In 2005 he followed Fujio Chō as "executive director and president" ( daihyō-torishimariyaku -shachō ). During his career, he gained reputation in the company by reducing costs. In 2009 he was replaced by Akio Toyoda .

Watanabe was named one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2005 by TIME magazine .

Katsuaki Watanabe was born in Mie Prefecture in 1942 and now lives in Toyota City . He is married and has three daughters. The amateur musician Watanabe also sings in a male choir and enjoys playing golf and tennis.
