Katowice Ball Game Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Katowice Ball Game Association (KBV) also known as the Katowice Ball Game Association was a local football association in the Upper Silesian city of Katowice .

history

The KBV was founded in January 1906 (the date of foundation has not been handed down) by the three clubs FC Preußen 1905 Kattowitz , SC Diana Kattowitz and SC Germania Kattowitz .

These three clubs also took part in the championship of the KBV. On March 18, 1906, the first match between Diana and Germania was played on the municipal sports field in front of around 200 spectators. Since only three results were reported by the beginning of August, there was probably only a single round. FC Prussia became champions.

From this Katowice ball game association the Upper Silesian Sports Association emerged, which then led through negotiations with the Wroclaw Sports Association to admission to the Upper Silesia district of the Southeast German Football Association (SOFV) .

At the end of August or beginning of September, the Katowice Ballspiel-Verband joined the SOFV with its three clubs and formed the Upper Silesia district with FC 1903 Ratibor, which joined in June . The district itself was only recognized as such by the SOFV in January 1907.
