action

In this visually stunning and provocative thriller, an ex-cop finds out more than he'd like about his missing teenage daughter. Kanako is a model student for her class and friends. One day she disappears without a trace. Her father, ex-police officer Akikazu Fujishima, immediately goes to look for her. But he soon finds out that there is a big, dark secret behind his daughter's behavior. During his search, he hopes to win his family back over. His choleric and brutal behavior was the reason for the divorce for his ex-wife. When Fujishima finds out which obscure double life his daughter has led, he has only one goal, because from now on it is no longer just about finding Kanako again.

reception

In its country of origin, Japan, the film caused quite a stir due to its explicit brutality. Director Tetsuya Nakashima apologized with a statement, but also defended his film. Before that, the director caused a sensation with his drama Memories of Matsuko , Paco and the Magical Book or Confessions . In a statement, the director says he felt he had to make this film. In addition, the human feelings “love” and “hate” are often not very far apart. In Japan, the advertising of a few cinemas that tried to lure schoolchildren at the age of 15 into the film with discount campaigns caused additional sensation. The film is released in Japan from the age of 15.
