The Erwin Kayser-Threde GmbH (short and Kayser-Threde GmbH ) was a system house , which had specialized in developing and implementing high-tech solutions for aerospace, science and industry. The range of products offered included system solutions for manned and unmanned space missions, optical systems, transport telematics, crash test data acquisition and process control technology for traction power supply. The latter two represent a technology transfer from space travel.

On September 1, 2014, the companies OHB System AG and Erwin Kayser-Threde GmbH merged and have been operating under the name OHB System AG ever since .

Space travel

Kayser-Threde's contributions include more than 100 scientific instruments, systems and system components for space stations, satellites and interplanetary missions. Optical systems and system components for eight space telescopes and cameras for astronomy and earth observation have so far been put into operation.

Industrial applications

  • Automotive : In the automotive crash area , Kayser-Threde was the world market leader with the on-board data acquisition system MINIDAU. The system was installed in around 70% of all crash systems worldwide. In addition, other services ( e.g. dummy calibration) were offered. The corporate division was taken over by the Kistler Group with effect from September 22, 2009 .
