Fujita appeared in January 2004 in Kanbayashi, Sōja for the first time at an FIS race . At first he only started in races within Japan and was able to achieve placements in the midfield. Two years after his debut, he was in the top ten for the first time in Sapporo and he won the following race in Kanbayashi. Since that time he has consistently been in the top ten and was able to qualify for his first World Cup start in February 2007. At the beginning of 2008 Fujita achieved a number of successes, which culminated in his first World Cup victory and second place at the FIS Junior World Championships. After he managed three wins and an eighth place in FIS races within a week with two consecutive competitions in Furano and Takaifuji on two weekends , he also won the Halfpipe World Cup in Gujō three weeks later . The second place in the national championships, only beaten by Kōhei Kudō , was the stopover for the junior runner-up title behind the Swiss Daniel Friberg and before his compatriot Keito Kumazaki . The World Cup success in his only race of the season brought him 21st place in the 2008 overall ranking in the halfpipe discipline.
Until the end of the 2008 season Fujita had only competed in his home country, with the start of the 2008/09 season he was also at the start outside of Japan. He finished fifth in Cardrona in September and sixth in Saas-Fee at the end of October .
