Kees Kroesemeijer is a Dutch car racing driver .

Career

Kees Kroesemeijer started his racing career in touring car racing in the early 1980s . In 1980, in the Dutch touring car championship, he won his first race in the production car class under 1600 cm³ with a VW Golf GTI in Zandvoort . A year later he entered the championship again with the Golf GTI and won five of the eight races. However, Kroesemeijer was disqualified and the title went to Evert Bolderheij. In 1982 and 1983 Kroesemeijer fielded a VW Scirocco GTI in the touring car championship and in 1982 won the title of production car from 1300-1600 cc . In the 1983 racing season, he reached fifth place in the annual ranking.

Parallel to his touring car races, he drove his first endurance race in 1982 at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race , which he and his fellow drivers had to give up prematurely after an accident.

From 1982 to 1984 Kroesemeijer started in some races of the German Racing Championship (DRM). At first he drove there for the Kannacher GT Racing team with URD C81 and URD C83 racing cars . From 1984 he started with a Porsche CK5 and Porsche 956 from Porsche Kremer Racing . He reached his best DRM season result in 1985 with the sixth place.

For Team Kremer he drove a few races in the 1st division of the Interseries in 1984 and 1985 . There he achieved his first overall victory with a sports car prototype in a Porsche CK5 in 1984 at the AVUS race.

From 1983 to 1985 he also competed for Kremer Racing in races for the World Sports Car Championship . There he achieved his best result together with Ludwig Heimrath senior and his son at the 1000 km race in Mosport in 1985 in a Porsche 956 with fourth place in the overall standings.

Kroesemeijer drove his last race in 1985 in the Interserie at the Nürburgring , which he finished with a fifth place.
