Kehlhof Ermatingen
The Kehlhof in Ermatingen ( Canton Thurgau , Switzerland ) is a Kehlhof built in 1694 . It is designed as a frame structure and contains a courtroom. The Ermatinger Kehlhof is listed as an object of national importance in the Swiss inventory of cultural assets .
history
A Kehlhof in Ermatingen was mentioned in a document as early as the 14th century. The current building was built in 1694 by Mayor Ammann and expanded in 1811. In the years 1971 to 1976 the Kehlhof was extensively renovated and in 2001 it was awarded the Thurgau Heimatschutzpreis.
From the Middle Ages until 1798, the Ermatinger Kehlhof was the local administrative seat of the manor, which was located at Reichenau Monastery . It served as the delivery point for the tithe and as the place of jurisdiction for the lower jurisdiction .
Courtroom
The historic courtroom on the first floor is adorned with a dozen paintings depicting scenes from the Old Testament.
Emil Ammann Collection
The barn of the Kehlhof houses the display depot of the Emil Ammann collection with rural and handicraft tools from the 19th and 20th centuries.
