Ambuila (also Ambuíla ) is a small town ( Vila ) and a district in Angola .
history
From 1625 the Portuguese colonial administration began to extend its control to this area as well. She met resistance from the Kingdom of the Congo . On October 29, 1665 the battle of Ambuila took place here . The victorious Portuguese were able to expand their control over what is now Angola.

Ambuila is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Uíge . The district covers an area of 4799 km² and has 88,542 inhabitants (extrapolated estimate 2014). The 2014 population census is intended to provide accurate population data in the future.
The district of Ambuila consists of two municipalities (Comunas):

- Quipedro
