Cangola (sometimes also Kangola ) is a small town and a district in Angola , in southwestern Africa . The district is also called Alto Cauale .
history
Cangola was one of the scenes of the first raids by the UPA independence movement ( União das Populações de Angola , from 1962 FNLA ), with which the Portuguese colonial war (1961-1975) began in Angola in the spring of 1961 .
administration
Cangola is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Uíge . The district was named Alto Cauale, but is now mostly named after its capital, Cangola. Around 75,000 people live in the district (2013 estimate). From now on, the 2014 census should provide accurate population data.
There are three communities (Comunas) in the district:
