The Neddersee is an almost completely silted-up lake in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located within the municipal areas of Kuhlen-Wendorf and Brüel between the towns of Gustävel and Golchen. The Alte Warnow runs through it. The former lake area is part of the Warnowseen nature reserve .

In a measuring table from 1888, the water level of the lake is given as 16.2 m above sea level. The size was about 13 hectares, the circumference about 1.4 km.

The formation of the lake goes back to a form of dead ice . After defrosting, the hollow mold that had been sanded over filled with water. Originally the Warnow flowed through the Rummelbornsee and the Neddersee, it was straightened in the years 1938 to 1940 and in 1964 diverted past both lakes to the south. The old course, known today as the Alte Warnow , remained, but a drop in the water level of around one meter led to rapid silting up and subsidence of the bog. Reeds were still being extracted from the area until 1995.

Partial relocation of the Warnow in 1997 and 1998 aims to keep the water levels in the lakes and the surrounding moorland at a high level.
