Quimbele is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Uíge . The district has 299,262 inhabitants (extrapolated estimate 2014). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
The Quimbele district is made up of four municipalities (Comunas):
