As laryngeal tuberculosis a is tuberculosis in the area of the larynx and in particular the vocal cords and ventricular bands , respectively.

Until the introduction of tuberculostatics , it was the most common and most painful consequence of pulmonary tuberculosis .

Ulcers , lymphangitis, and edema often form . The patient suffers early from hoarseness and swallowing pain.
