Keiichi Hayashi (civil engineer)

Keiichi Hayashi (born July 2, 1879 in Takada , † August 2, 1957 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese civil engineer.

Hayashi went to school in Tokyo and studied at the Imperial University of Tokyo from 1900 to 1903 . Then he worked as a mining engineer. In 1912 he received his doctorate in Tokyo with a dissertation on elastically bedded beams. From 1912 to 1917 he taught at Kyūshū University . At the same time he was studying in Germany, England and the USA. In 1917 he became a professor at Kyushu University.

It is known from the first treatment of an elastically bedded beam. He also published tables of trigonometric and special functions such as Bessel functions.
