Keith teacher

Keith Edward Lehrer (born January 10, 1936 ) is an American philosopher . He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona . He previously taught at the University of Rochester .

Life

Teacher received his PhD in philosophy from Brown University , where he conducted research with Richard Taylor . He mainly worked on epistemology , coherence theory , free will , Thomas Reid and aesthetics .

Teacher has written seven books on philosophy and over 170 articles. He became known for his defense of the coherence theory of justification. In 2005 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Teacher also worked as a painter.
