The kekutsu ( Japanese 毛 靴 , dt. " Fur shoes ") or kutsu is a protective weapon from Japan.

description

The kekutsu are usually made of bearskin and leather, as well as fabrics such as brocade . They are made like normal shoes with the bearskin on the outside. The part around the ankle is made of brocade and they have a shoe sole that is treated with varnish. The shoes are made big enough to be put on over the normal tabi or the armored Kogake and Kusari tabi .
