Kelefesia (also: Falafagea , Fallafajea , Kelifijia ) is an island in the Ha'apai archipelago , which belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

geography

The Motu is located in the south of ʻOtu Muʻomuʻa and is the southernmost island of the Nuku Islands group. Together with Hunga Tonga , it is the southernmost island of the Ha'apai group at the transition to Tongatapu . The island has roughly the shape of a hatchet leaf and is surrounded by diverse coral reefs.

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Just like the other islands in the Ha'apai group, Kelefesia is occasionally hit by cyclones .
