Kellokoski Church

The nucleus of Kellokoski is the Mariefors ironworks , founded in 1795, around which the place developed in the 19th century . The Kellokoski Church was built in 1800. The wooden building stands out with its elongated floor plan, the mansard roof and a small attached church tower due to its unusual shape and offers space for 180 worshipers. The preserved buildings of the ironworks complex date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries . The main building of the manor, to which the ironworks belonged, dates from 1884. In the 1910s it was converted into a hospital and subsequently rebuilt several times. In the early 1980s, production in the ironworks was stopped.
