from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Celtic Research is a specialist journal for Celtology published in Vienna . It was founded in 2006 and appears annually. David Stifter (Institute for Linguistics - Indo-European Studies , University of Vienna ) is the publisher of the magazine , which is published by Praesens Verlag in Vienna , on behalf of Brennos - Association for Celtology. The Celtic research is peer-reviewed and internationally oriented, but also has an Austrian focus. The Celtic Researches accept contributions from all areas of research in Celtology.

From the editor's foreword to the first 2006 edition

Current research and research results from Austria should therefore be given a regular place. But only one place among many, because the topic and group of contributors should by no means be limited to local issues, as can already be seen from the range of contributions in this first issue. The title Celtic Research is intended to signal that the subject of the journal is Celtology as a cultural science in the broadest possible sense, that is, encompasses all occupation with cultural expressions that have direct or indirect references to Celtic societies or individuals. Traditionally, these are archeology, history, art history, literature, religion, language and folklore. However, the discussion of the subject of Celtology itself and its history, the reception of Celtic culture from antiquity to modern times and the theory of science are expressly suggested as additional and somewhat innovative topics. The editors reserve the right to reserve individual numbers of the Celtic Research for thematically closed anthologies and, in special cases, for monographs, if corresponding articles are available.

Celtic Researches - Series of Monographs

As of 2008, several series of monographs will be opened in addition to the magazine, these series of monographs on Celtic Research will be published by David Stifter, Raimund Karl and Hannes Tauber.
