Kemal Aydın (born January 19, 1934 in Derekışla , Balâ , Ankara ) is a former Turkish football player and football official. He played for Gençlerbirliği , was considered one of the best Turkish players of his era in his club's fan circles and was a management function of the Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu . His nickname ( lakap ) was Kara Kemal ("Dark Kemal"). He was never called up to the national team.
The life
He was born in Derekışla, a village belonging to Balâ in Ankara Province . His father was Hasan Aydın, one of Ankara's first butchers. He attended İnönü Elementary School and graduated from Gazi High School in Ankara. He then studied at the Economics and Administration Faculty of Gazi University in Ankara. He completed his studies alongside his football career. He played for Gençlerbirliği from 1956 to 1962. He was given the nickname Kara Kemal to distinguish him from three other Kemals.
He is married to Özden Aydın and has two children.
Working life
From 1956 he worked at the Turkish land registry . Soon after, he moved to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Shortly before the 1980 military coup , he became the head of the sports academy and later general coordinator of the Turkish Football Federation . In 1985 he retired, but was still active as an advisor to the minister and as a representative of the Turkish Football Federation in European games.
