Kenelm Burridge

Kenelm Oswald Lancelot Burridge (born October 31, 1922 in Malta - † May 21, 2019 ) was a British ethnologist .

A classic in his field was Burridge's work New Heaven, New Earth on millenarian movements , the cargo cults , in Oceania .

He taught at the University of British Columbia from 1968 until his retirement in 1987 . In 1977 he was made a member of the Royal Society of Canada .
