Kenneth Kvarnström

Kenneth Kvarnström (born February 3, 1963 in Karis ) is a Finnish dancer, choreographer , professor and theater director .

Life

From 1984 to 1987 he studied dance at the Stockholm Ballet Academy . From 1987 he worked on his own choreographies. In 1990 he created the choreography Exhibio for the Helsinki Festival , which he later practiced with dance groups in Norway and England . He also worked for television. From 1995 to 1998 he was chief choreographer at the Helsinki City Theater .

His choreographies have been performed in many countries in Europe and on tours in South America . His choreography Duo received an award at the Paris Dance Video Competition in 1992.

His works are described as modern urban choreographies that bring the energy of the street to the stage and express aggressiveness, sexuality and violence.
