The Kenworth Truck Company was founded in 1923 by Frederick Kent and Edgar Worthington in Seattle ( USA ).
The enterprise
The company emerged from the Gersix Company , which Edgar Worthington had founded in Seattle around 1900. Kenworth is still one of the major truck manufacturers in the USA today .
In 1933 Kenworth presented the first truck with a diesel engine in the USA . After the managing director's death in 1944, Paccar Inc. bought the Kenworth brand, which has been a subsidiary ever since.
The best known types are the W900 ( Conventional ), the T600 / T2000 ( Anteater ) and the K100 ( Cabover ).
