Kenya Broadcasting Corporation
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is a state media organization in Kenya . It was first founded in 1928 as an offshoot of the BBC from Great Britain. KBC now operates 16 channels and is a state-owned company headquartered in Nairobi , led by Edward Musebe - Chairman, (KBC Board of Directors).
Programs are broadcast in English and Swahili , and in most of the national languages of Kenya.
The broadcaster was founded in 1928 during the British colonial era. After independence, the station renamed itself in 1964 to Voice of Kenya . In 1989 the station was renamed Kenya Broadcasting Corporation .
