Kephisodotos the Elder
Kephisodotos the Elder , from Athens, was a Greek sculptor of the Attic school (around 400–370 BC).
He was probably the father and teacher of the Praxiteles . He almost exclusively created images of gods in ore and marble and was perhaps the first to artistically shape the nine muses .
There is a marble copy of his Eirene with the young Plutos in his arms (previously called Leukothea with the Bacchos boy) in the Glyptothek in Munich .
The son of Praxiteles , Kephisodotos the Younger , was an important artist in ore and marble work.
