Keppler cave
The Keppler cave was a cave in Balve , Sauerland , and was located in the Hönnetal .
history
In 1910, the first cave branches were discovered during the construction of the Hönnetalbahn . In 1919 large parts of the cave were opened up by blasting. A narrow passage led to the lower cave , which was 14 meters long, 10 meters wide and 7 meters high. A connection to the Upper Cave , which was 6 meters in diameter and height, was through upwardly running hose-like clefts.
The cave was the site of numerous bones from the cave lion, which are in the local museum of the city of Menden .
The Keppler cave was destroyed around 1920.
