Keret house

The Keret House is a building designed by the architect Jakub Szczęsny . It was built in 2012 and is located in the vacant lot of its two neighboring buildings. With a total area of ​​14.09 m² on two levels, it is considered the narrowest house in the world. It is located in Warsaw and is named after its first inhabitant, the writer Etgar Keret . The house is located in the Wola district where there was once an entrance to the Warsaw ghetto , through which Keret's mother smuggled bread for the family into the ghetto as a child.

The building consists of an iron frame and comprises a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living area. It is illuminated with two non-opening windows. It was built with the help of the City of Warsaw and the Foundation of Polish Modern Art .
