Kerkingen is a district of the Baden-Württemberg city of Bopfingen . The hamlets Edelmühle , Itzlingen and Meisterstall belong to the place .
history
Kerkingen was first mentioned in 1272 as Corkingen . There was a moated castle in the village that has been documented since the 13th century. The place came to Bavaria in 1806. In 1810 it was incorporated into Württemberg. Kerkingen has been a district of Bopfingen since January 1, 1972.
