Core makers work in foundries in which they produce massive bodies called cores ( cores (process) ) that form the cavities in cast pieces. From a certain size of the cores they have to be stabilized with core irons .

Core makers work in steel, iron, light and non-ferrous metal foundries. They can also work in in-house foundries in the automotive industry or in factories that manufacture machines for the printing and textile industries or pumps and compressors .

As a rule, you will gain access to this profession through appropriate training in foundry technology .
