Core iron

Core irons are mostly steel inserts (reinforcement) in cores for a casting mold in order to stabilize the molding material , to move the finished core with lifting equipment and possibly to fix it in the casting mold (screwing, welding).

After the mold has been cast , the core iron must be removed again when the cast is cleaned and is destroyed like the mold itself. In the case of cores that are subject to high thermal loads, the core iron is combined with air cooling (compressed air connection) for the core itself.
