Giuseppe Ferlendis

Giuseppe Ferlendis (* 1755 in Bergamo , † 1810 in Lisbon ) was an Italian composer and oboist .

Life

Ferlendis was a celebrated oboe virtuoso during his lifetime. From April 1777 to June 1778 he had a job in the prince-archbishop's court chapel in Salzburg. His annual salary was 540 guilders, 40 guilders more than that of his colleague Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart . He composed his oboe concerto KV 314 for Ferlendis . Ferlendi's first oboe concerto in F major was written in Salzburg in 1777 , which corresponds to the taste of the time there.

He was active in London in 1795 and dedicated his last oboe concerto, composed there, to Joseph Haydn . His last job was in Lisbon in 1801.
