Kerstin East

Kerstin Osten (born February 16, 1956 in Zittau ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 1994 to 2007 she was a member of the state parliament in Brandenburg . Kerstin Osten is one of the directors of the Brandenburg State Audit Office .

Life

Kerstin Osten was born on February 16, 1956 in Zittau. After her school days, which she completed in 1974 at the extended high school with the acquisition of the Abitur, she took up a degree in business administration at the Technical University of Dresden. She finished this in 1978 as a graduate engineer economist. From 1979 to 1984 Osten worked full-time for the FDJ district leadership in Strausberg . In 1985 she then worked for the SED district leadership in Strausberg. She then delegated her party from 1986 to 1989 to the “Karl Marx” party college in Kleinmachnow to study social sciences . She was obviously unable to complete this degree due to the turnaround. From 1991 to the end of the first state parliament election period, Osten worked for various members of the state parliament of the then PDS . After her time as a professional politician, she has been director of the State Audit Office of Brandenburg since November 2007.

Kerstin Osten is married and has two children.

Kerstin Osten was a member of the SED, but only appeared in the GDR as a full-time employee of an FDJ and SED district leadership. In 1990, meanwhile a member of the PDS, she was elected as a member of the first state board of the Brandenburg PDS. In 1994 she successfully ran for the Brandenburg state parliament on the PDS state list and remained its member until November 2007. After leaving the state parliament, Kerstin Bednarsky was her successor. In the parliamentary group, Osten was deputy group chairwoman during the third electoral term. She was also a member of various committees. She made a name for herself as the chairwoman of the budget committee for the fourth electoral term and was put up for election by her party as a candidate for the post of director at the State Audit Office.
