Keti Chomata
Keti Chomata ( Greek Καίτη Χωματά , first name actually Ekaterini Αικατερίνη, * October 24, 1946 ; † October 24, 2010 in Athens ) was a Greek singer of the so-called Greek New Wave.
Life
Keti Chomata lived in Plaka in Athens . She studied classical dance and began singing at a young age. Giannis Spanos discovered her talent when he came from France and was looking for the voice of the new Greek wave.
She has recorded around 200 tracks and released around 18 records. One of her greatest successes was "Μια αγάπη για το καλοκαίρι" ("A summer love"). She also sang for the Greeks Abroad and was successful in Canada, the USA and Germany.
She was married and had two daughters. She died on October 24, 2010 at the age of 64 as a result of cancer.
