Chain house

Small settlement from the 1950s as a chain house with stable and ancillary buildings between the residential buildings in Reinbek, Schleswig-Holstein

In architecture, chain house refers to a single-family house that forms a closed row with other similarly designed houses and stables or garages in between. The houses can be arranged slightly offset from one another or in an exact row. The row thus formed is aligned parallel to a street or delimits a square. In comparison to row houses, chain houses appear much more relaxed.

In general, chain houses are built as a developer measure.
