Hail Mary Mallon is an American hip hop group consisting of Aesop Rock , Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz.
history
The three musicians were signed to the Definitive Jux label until 2010 . Guest contributions to each other's works resulted in friendship between them and the desire to start a band. Her first song D-Up was released on the label sampler Definitive Jux Presents 4 from El-P's label. Since Definitive Jux broke up in 2010, their debut album Are You Gonna Eat That? digital on May 3, 2011 via the label Rhymesayers Entertainment . The CD was released on June 7, 2011.
Naming
The name Hail Mary Mallon (English for greets Mary Mallon ) goes back to the Irish Mary Mallon known as Typhoid Mary . As an immigrant to the United States, she was the first person in the United States to be identified as a carrier of typhus without being sick herself .
