A keystroke launcher is a program used to start programs. Instead of selecting the program from a menu , the user actuates a key or key combination , whereupon an input window appears. In this he enters parts of the program name in order to limit the selection until the desired entry is displayed and he confirms the selection (usually with the enter key or a button ). Some keystroke launchers offer additional functions such as searching the Internet or, in addition to programs, also offer documents or contacts for selection.
