The KfW Capital GmbH & Co. KG (short KfW Capital ) is a holding company and wholly owned subsidiary of KfW . It invests in German and European venture capital and venture debt funds. The aim of the company is "to enable young, innovative and fast-growing (technology) companies in Germany in the growth phase through financially stronger funds better access to capital." The company was created in cooperation with the BMF and the BMWi . KfW Capital has taken over the activities of KfW in the area of ​​venture capital as part of the high-tech start-up fund and coparion and also receives funds from the ERP special fund (colloquially known as the Marshall Plan ), which is invested directly in existing funds can be invested. There are thus three different investment programs.

Holdings

The investments amount to a maximum of 25 million euros and 19.99% of the capital and voting rights of the funds. Investments are to be increased to an average of 200 million euros per year by 2020. In 2019, the investment commitments were 156 million euros. KfW Capital has so far invested in around 30 different funds.
