Kgaswane Mountain Reserve
The Kgaswane Mountain Reserve (formerly Rustenburg Nature Reserve) is a 4300 hectare nature reserve in the Magalies Mountains south of the city of Rustenburg in the northwestern province of the Republic of South Africa .
fauna
There are around 250 species of birds in the Kgaswane Mountain Reserve and some mammals include some antelopes, including sable antelope , klipspringer , kudu , springbok and oribi , as well as zebras , leopards and jackals .
flora
Among the 554 plant species in the reserve are the Aloe peglerae and Frithia pulchra , which are endemic to the Magaliesberg , an ice plant that lives in the soil up to the tips of the leaves. Acacia caffra , Protea caffra and P. gaguedi , Burkea africana and Combretum zeyheri are found on trees .
