FSSC 22000

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FSSC 22000 (abbreviation for Food Safety System Certification 22000 ) is a standard for ensuring food safety in the production of food.

application

The FSSC 22000 combines the requirements of ISO 22000 , management systems for food safety, with preventive programs from the series of technical specifications ISO / TS 22002 (food production, community catering, agriculture, production of food packaging, feed and animal feed production) or PAS 221 (food retail) or NTA 8059 (transport and storage), and some additional requirements. FSSC 22000 has been recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) as equivalent to the other approved procedures (such as the International Featured Standard and the standard of the British Retail Consortium ). This ensures broad acceptance by everyone involved in the food chain. The advantage over, for example, the IFS is that the FSSC is based on an ISO standard and is not the property of an interest group. This ensures an independent process. Such a system can be introduced either by the company itself or with the help of a specialized consultant. The fourth version of the FSSC 22000 has been available since January 2017.

Certification

The FSSC already recognize several trademarks. The following certification bodies, among others, are currently approved for certification according to FSSC 22000: DEKRA Certification GmbH, ARS PROBATA, Intertek , SGS , Eurofins, TÜV NORD , TÜV Rheinland , TÜV Süd , Lloyd's Register , Swiss Safety Center.
