Kham Fu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Phaya Kham Fu ( Thai : คำ ฟู , also Kham Phu or Kamphu ; * in the 13th century in Chiang Kham ; †  1336 in Chiang Saen ) was the fourth king of Lan Na and successor of King Saen Phu between 1334 and 1336 .

For strategic reasons, Kham Fu resided in Chiang Saen in the north of his empire. He appointed his son Phayu as the commander and administrator of Chiang Mai , the actual capital of Lan Na.

Kham Fu managed to expand Lan Na to the east, which can be seen as the growing strength of the empire. He first took Phayao . He later attacked Phrae too, but was unable to defeat it.

Kham Fu died in Chiang Saen in 1336. His ashes are kept in a chedi built by his son Phayu in Wat Phra Singh in Chiang Mai.
