Kheïreddine Zetchi

Kheïreddine Zetchi (born October 24, 1965 in Bordj Bou Arreridj , Algeria ) is an Algerian businessman and football official. He has been President of the Algerian Football Association since March 2017 .

Life

Zetchi was born in 1965 in Bordj Bou Arreridj , Algeria , where his father Said Zetchi was active as a professional footballer, and grew up in the capital, Algiers . He himself went through the youth career of the local Hydra AC but did not make the leap into the senior team of the club.

In 1992 he took over his parents' ceramic manufacturer Faïences Algériennes and the subsidiary ZET CERAM and, together with his brother Hassan Zetchi, led the company to the market leaders in Algeria.

Together with the latter, in 1994 he was one of the founding members of Paradou AC , which is based in Algiers' Hydra district, and was also elected founding president of the club.

With the club he achieved eight promotions in eleven years to the highest Algerian league in 2005, from which the club was relegated in 2007. In 2007 Zetchi succeeded in starting a cooperation with the youth development organization JMG Academy , which the Paradou AC serves as a training association.

In March 2017, after ten years , the PAC was able to return to the Ligue Professionnelle 1 early .

On March 20, 2017, Kheireddine Zetchi was elected as the new President of the Algerian Football Association FAF . The following day he gave up the presidency at Paradou after 23 years.
