A Kidurzertilowani inscription from the monastery Ischchani

Kidurzertilowani ( Georgian კიდურწერტილოვანი , kʼɪdʊrt͡sʼɛrtʼɪlɔvɑnɪ ; German about "pointed point") is a variant of the Georgian script Assomtawruli . Kidurzertilowani mainly appears as a calligraphic , decorative epigraphic script. Their peculiarity are the letter strokes terminated by deeper chiseled points.

The first evidence of the Kidurzertilowani script is an inscription from the year 1006 by King Gurgen in the monastery of Ischchani (today in Turkey ), which reports on the construction of the church. Another Kidurzertilowani inscription, dated 1031 and thus also one of the oldest, comes from the same monastery. The script then remained widespread until the 18th century.

The original name of this Georgian font is unknown. The current name does not appear until 1926 and goes back to the Georgian scientist Iwane Javachishvili .
