The Kiebitzholmer Moor is an FFH area in the Schleswig-Holstein community of Negernbötel . It has been part of the European FFH program since 1997.
The Kiebitzholmer Moor is one of the few remaining raised bog remains of a former large-scale moor and heathland landscape with sand heather regeneration potential. The Trentmoor is of national importance in terms of its closeness to nature and vegetation zoning. The area includes the geoscientific objects worthy of protection: “Inland dune near Kiebitzholm”, “Inland dune near Hamdorf” and “Cliff of the Tensfelder Au”.
The areas particularly worthy of protection are the raised bog habitats, the wet and sandy heaths and the wet grassland.
Hiking, riding and cycling paths
The hiking, riding and cycling trails amount to approx. 5 km. Most of the FFH area is not accessible.
particularities
There is no agriculture in the Kiebitzholmer Moor. In order to still preserve nature, Galloways graze freely on the areas.
