The Kienle + Spiess Group produces components for electrical drives, so-called rotors and stators . The company is one of the leading suppliers of electric motors and generators. They are used in industrial applications, motor vehicles, household appliances and systems for renewable energies.

As the inventor of the adhesive packaging process and an expert in stamping and die-casting technology, Kienle + Spiess employs around 1,100 people. The group's headquarters are in Sachsenheim , Baden-Württemberg . In addition, Kienle + Spiess has other national and international locations.

history

The Kienle + Spiess Group was founded in 1935 as Kienle + Spiess GmbH in Sachsenheim. In 1960 a second production facility is set up in nearby Vaihingen an der Enz . In the mid-1980s, Kienle + Spiess took over the British company Geo. L. Scott & Co. Ltd. and Sankey Laminations Ltd.

The British company Euro-Laminations Ltd. has been owned since 1991. to Kienle + Spiess. The expansion is continued in 1996 with the establishment of Kienle + Spiess Hungary Kft. Two years later, Blum GmbH in Vaihingen an der Enz is taken over.

After Kienle + Spiess GmbH was taken over by Bavaria Industriekapital AG in 2006 , the company operates as the Kienle + Spiess Group. The aim is to further expand market leadership in Germany.

Since April 2013, the company has been part of the Sumitomo Group , which has its headquarters in Tokyo.

Sumitomo continues to operate Kienle + Spiess as an independent company.

Innovations

The Kienle + Spiess group of companies holds numerous patents on processes and technologies: from the IEC series of standard motors to the glulock® adhesive packaging process. A groundbreaking milestone for the industry was also the development of the energy-saving permanent magnet synchronous motors KSPM.

The latest innovations from the Kienle + Spiess Group include the GeoShift® system, which makes the stamping process for T-segment sheets safer and more precise.
