The FF Kievit is one of Mike Abbink designed font that within the FontFont font library of FontShop International is published. In Germany, the font became known as the corporate font of the CDU and DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung . The city of Mannheim also uses them for their corporate design . The Type Directors Club recognized FF Kievit as a particularly successful type composition in 2001, as did the International Society of Typographic Designers.

FF Kievit uses relatively large points. It is therefore particularly suitable for languages ​​with umlauts. FF Kievit is based on classic serif fonts , but differs from the antiqua family by a small g . The lowercase letters have ascenders with the exception of the t. FF Kievit also uses old style figures .

The FF Kievit was first used by the CDU for the 2005 Bundestag election campaign . At that time, they wanted to use a modern, independent, easily legible font. It replaced Franklin Gothic as the CDU's corporate font .
