Kilchsperger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kilchsperger is the name of an old Zurich family who have enjoyed citizenship in the city of Zurich since 1512 .

The first Kilchsperger in Zurich were butchers and therefore guilders for rams. Although the butcher's profession became less important in the family and no family member learned the butcher's profession for around 350 years, some were later members of this guild. For example, Heinrich Kilchsperger (1726–1805), the last mayor of old Zurich, was a guild of rams.

The newer coat of arms of the Kilchsperger family shows a ram on a mountain of three and three stars. The ram was probably taken from the guild's coat of arms.
