Kill the Romance is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Lahti that was formed in 2004.
history
The band was founded in early 2004 by drummer Mika Tanttu, singer Ville Hovi and guitarists Tomi Luoma and Antti Kokkonen. In 2005 bassist Raimo Posti joined the group as a further member. In July 2004 the band recorded their first self-titled EP. In January 2005 the band was selected from over 150 unsigned bands to play at the Finnish Metal Expo. The performance was followed by a concert in Saint Petersburg . After that, the band began writing new material.
In June 2005 the second EP Logical Killing Project was released. This was followed by appearances all over Finland such as the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival or the Nummirock Metal Festival . In 2006 the EP Cyanide was released. Several appearances followed, including at Wacken Open Air .
In the fall of 2006 the band reached a contract with Locomotive Records . Shortly thereafter, the band recorded their first album, called Take Another Life , which was released in March 2007.
In 2011, the band's second album, For Rome and the Throne , was released through Inverse Records .

The band plays classic melodic death metal, comparing the works with bands from Gothenburg such as At the Gates , In Flames and Dark Tranquility .
