Killacycle

The KillaCycle is an electric motorcycle specially designed for acceleration races (see also drag bike ) .

With 7.89 seconds and a top speed of 270 km / h (168 mph) on the quarter mile, achieved on Oct. 23, 2008 at Bandimere Speedway (Morrison, Colorado, USA), it held the record in its class until November 2010 DMC / A3 from NEDRA. An earlier expansion stage still holds the record in the next smaller class, DMC / A2.

Owner and designer is Bill Dubé, driver is Scotty Pollacheck.

  • Battery: lithium iron phosphate accumulator , consisting of 1210 cells of type M1 from A123Systems . Capacity 9.1 kWh, voltage 374 V, mass 91 kg (200 lbs)
  • Motors: 2 pieces L-91 DC motors, switchable between parallel and series connection
  • Power: 370 kW (over 500 PS)
  • Acceleration 0–60 mph: 0.97 s (corresponds to just over 1 s for 0–100 km / h)
  • Consumption: approx. 0.6 kWh per trip (400 m) including burn-out , this corresponds to approx. 0.12 EUR
  • fastest time for 1/4 mile: 7.824 s (achieved speed 270 km / h / 168 mph)
  • top speed after 1/4 mile: 280 km / h (174.05 mph)
