Killer Instinct is an American television series that was broadcast from September 23 to December 2, 2005 on Fox . Due to below-average audience ratings, the series was stopped broadcast in the US after the ninth episode. Nonetheless, all 13 episodes produced were broadcast in the UK on Channel 5 , as well as in France, New Zealand, Croatia, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Japan and Poland. However, it was not broadcast in German-speaking countries.

Detective Jack Hale works for the "Deviant Crimes Unit" of the San Francisco Police Department and is always offensive with his gruff manner, be it in dealing with colleagues or in investigative methods. Complicating his behavior is that Hale's own father is a convicted serial killer who is known for the particular brutality of his crimes. For many, this raises the question of whether Jack's behavior is showing any signs of fear that one day he might end up like his father.
